As the world continues to social distance, people are wondering what is next for restaurants. When restaurants are allowed to reopen their dining rooms, they are required to have guests at 50% capacity. This policy is put in place to maintain the proper distance between diners. To fill out the restaurant that will be kept at half capacity, restauranteurs thought of mannequins!

One of the world’s best restaurants will seat mannequins at tables to make the restaurant look busy. The Inn at Little Washington, a Michelin-starred eatery, is taking social distancing to a theatrical level. At the world-renowned Virginia restaurant, the mannequins are dressed in formal attire to fit in with the restaurant’s ambiance and vibe. The highly acclaimed eatery plans to reopen on May 29, for hungry diners and mannequins.

People dine out for excellent food, service, and atmosphere. With the world socially distancing, one thing people miss most is the atmosphere and being around other people. To make up for the lack of other people, creative restauranteurs are turning to dining with dummies.

Will this trend take off, or is it creepy for guests? Only time will tell!
