Delivery Platform Offers Support to NYC Restaurants, Without the Pricey Fees

As restaurants struggle to stay open, many are having to deal with the added expense of high commission fees from third-party delivery apps. In order to support restaurants and add some financial relief, a platform called Spread has launched a new project, #SpreadHelp, connecting NYC restaurants with local customers.

How it works

Customers can sign up and receive texts directly from local restaurants that are near their homes. Restaurants can use this to promote exclusive delivery and takeout offers. The best part is that the product is entirely free for both the consumers and the restaurants!

The goal for this product is to direct consumers to the restaurant’s website rather than a third-party delivery app. From there, customers can order takeout or delivery, or whatever the restaurant is offering at that time.

Third-party apps like GrubHub and Uber Eats generally charge up to 30% of each sale in commissions. Not only are these fees hurting the restaurants, but they are also hurting the consumers.

Sign up to support local restaurants

Residents in the NYC area can sign up by visiting their site, or by texting SPREADHELP to (484) 702-6177. Support your local restaurants and their employees, and spread the word on #SpreadHelp.

If you’re an NYC restaurant and wish to be included, visit Spread’s contact page.
