Restaurants aren’t the only businesses using QR codes. Amid the pandemic, hotels are opting for QR codes to keep their guests safe and decrease contact points. A QR code is a matrix barcode that contains information about the item it is attached to, such as landing pages.

QR codes are beneficial for making dining reservations, browsing menus, making spa appointments, and more. By implementing this form of technology, hoteliers minimize the amount of contact on surfaces throughout the hotel.

Another benefit of QR codes is that hotels can make it their own. Hotels can create a QR code with their logos and brand colors while also leading guests to individual hotel landing pages that guests may not have visited before. This method establishes a QR code identity for hotels while also generating brand awareness. Creating professional-looking QR codes will also make guests feel more comfortable and more likely to use them.

Let’s take a look at a few hotels that are currently using QR codes for their guests.

Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort

According to Hotel News Now, the Dubai resort uses QR codes for amenities such as restaurant menus, leisure activities pricing, guest service directory, and spa menu. Guests can use these special QR codes to discover information about the hotel without having too much in-person contact.

Hard Rock Hotels

For guests to enjoy a contactless stay, Hard Rock Hotels uses QR codes for room service menus, restaurants, spa treatments, daily activity itineraries, and entertainment program schedules, according to Travel Pulse.

Guests can easily access the information from their personal smartphones, thus making their stay both efficient and safe.

Royal Park Hotel

According to SpecialEvents.com, Royal Park Hotel in Rochester, Michigan, is hosting corporate and private events. During the outdoor breakout sessions, the hotel provides the attendees with QR codes for their agendas to avoid the use of paper.

Hapimag

Operating over 50 properties in Europe and the U.S., Hapimag AG is utilizing QR codes for F&B. According to Hotel Business, Hapimag teamed up with RoomOrders to create a contactless F&B experience. Guests can scan a QR code to view the restaurant menu on their smartphones.

Final Thoughts

In order to keep guests safe and comfortable during their stay, consider creating a QR code with your brand logo and colors for guests to use for certain hotel amenities and activities. Your guests will appreciate the time and consideration you took into their health and safety.
